Vom 10. Bis 15. Juni 2019 nahmen sechs ukrainische Expert:innen aus ukrainischen Think-Tanks, NROs und Forschungsinstituten an der Studienreise „Zwischen Wissenschaft und Praxis: Wie beeinflussen Think-Tanks die Politikgestaltung in Deutschland?“ teil, um sich ein Bild von der Rolle wissenschaftlich fundierter Politikberatung in Deutschland zu machen. Darüber hinaus war es Ziel der Studienreise, Möglichkeiten der Zusammenarbeit zwischen Deutschen und Ukrainischen Expert:innen auszuloten und das Netzwerk rund um die „Platform for Analytics and Intercultural Communication“ (PAIC) zu erweitern.

More than 2150 years ago, when the envoy of the Chinese emperor Zhang Qian, the “father-founder” of the Great Silk Road, reached the final point of his journey in the northern Bactria (current South Tajikistan), he was surprised to find that bamboo and other goods from China were available at the local market. This discovery of the famous Chinese traveler shows that ancient India had a trade route towards not only Southern China, but also Bactria, which was the largest region in ancient Transoxiana.
