Representatives from politics, science, media and civil society develop recommendations for German European policy in the light of possible future European and international developments.

The Berlin Policy Hub, as part of the "Europeanisation beyond process" initiative, aims at networking research institutions and decision makers from different EU member states with think tanks from Eastern Partnership countries.

The Civic School for Sound EU Practice (CiSEP) is a training program for active changemakers from Ukrainian civil society. CiSEP creates a network of experts on issues related to the EU Association Agreement with the aim of strengthening Ukraine's European integration.

Open dialogue and joint responses: these have been the goals of the German-Hungarian Forum since 1991. Academics and experts discuss current issues of social and economic development in both countries.

EUCACIS is a PhD support programme for postgraduates and doctoral researchers from Central Asia and the Southern Caucasus.

Young researchers from Eastern Europe and Eurasia receive support through fellowships to realise their research projects. The Eurasia Lab & Fellowship Programme also helps them network with other researchers and activists working on the region.

The project raises awareness among young Europeans of the democratic revolutions in Central Europe and the accession of this region to the EU and discusses the relevance of these events for a European culture of remembrance.

Collective foreign policy, European neighbourhood, energy policy: these and many other topics are covered in the series European Papers.

The cooperation between think tanks and politics are strengthened. GURN focuses on knowledge transfer, capacity building and bilateral dialogue. Current developments and German-Ukrainian relations are discussed in a variety of formats.

What is the significance of German reunification for Europe today? The project rEUnify compares and discusses historical memories and national perceptions of German reunification in Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, France and the Czech Republic.

The Conference on the Future of Europe is an opportunity to enhance EU-level democracy. Concrete reform proposals have been worked out for this purpose. They are also advocated in the debate on the EU’s future.

With research questions on the rule of law and justice, the social dimension of the enlargement process, and democratisation "from below," the IEP is intensifying its work on the EU enlargement process vis-à-vis the countries of the Western Balkans.

Central Asia is gaining increasing global importance. However, power is in the hands of a few in the countries of the region. A key factor for social change is strengthening youth policy.
