The demands on political decision-makers have increased significantly in the wake of the crises experienced in recent years. The relevance of a future-oriented policy, the crisis-related adaptability of political solutions and the agile action of political actors has increased significantly.
To support the crisis capacity of German European policy, the strategy group "Berlin Futures" brings together a small circle of representatives from politics, academia, media and civil society to develop new forward-looking ideas and impulses for German European policy and the future of the European project with the help of innovative and interactive methods of foresight policy planning ("Foresight Studies").
The Strategy Group is chaired by Christoph Wolfrum, Head of the European Department at the Federal Foreign Office, and Prof Dr Gaby Umbach, European University Institute Florence and member of the Scientific Directorate of the IEP.
The IEP cooperates with the European University Institute Florence within the framework of the strategy group.
