Our video focuses on the EU’s enlargement to include the countries of the Western Balkans: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia. Although all these countries have a European perspective, they are at different stages of the accession process and face various political and economic challenges.
The video provides an overview of the current state of enlargement, explains the requirements for EU accession and shows how the EU intends to use the Growth Plan to integrate the region more closely even before potential membership. The aim is to explain the opportunities and challenges of enlargement and to put its growing geopolitical significance into context.
