York Albrecht, research associate at the IEP Berlin, explains why protecting the rule of law is crucial not only for Germany, but for Europe as a whole.

The rule of law is essential for democracy!
The independence of the judiciary is one of the most important pillars of democracy. It protects fundamental rights, limits the power of the government and ensures fair elections. Germany has so far worked to preserve the rule of law in Europe. But will this remain the case after the general election? York Albrecht, research associate at the IEP Berlin, explains why protecting the rule of law is crucial not only for Germany, but for Europe as a whole.

The non-partisan Europa-Union Deutschland, the IEP Berlin, the European Federalists and the Federal Network for Civic Engagement shed light on the European implications of the election and show why your vote counts not only for Germany, but also for Europe.
Every vote for a democratic party is a vote for Europe.
