EU training programme for Moldovan civil society
22/10/2024

Civil society plays a central role in the Republic of Moldova's EU negotiations. The training in Chișinău offered representatives of Moldovan civil society the opportunity for exchange and enhancing their capacities.

The training designed for Moldovan civil society focused on Moldova's negotiation process with regard to EU accession. The aim was to strengthen the capacities of Moldovan civil society and to provide tools for monitoring this process.

The training programme included three presentations that provided an overview of the state of Moldova's accession negotiations with the EU, the methodology of EU enlargement and the mechanisms of democratic accountability in the negotiation process. During the training, the participants also discussed the role of civil society in strengthening transparency. The sessions were moderated by Adrian Ermurachi, Co-Executive Director of IPRE, and Vladimir Medjak, expert on European policy and EU enlargement.

Two further online training sessions are planned as part of the CAPACITY4EU project, which will focus on strengthening civil society during the screening phase and EU support in the accession process, among other topics.

22 representatives of Moldovan civil society who would like to actively engage in the negotiation processes took part in the training on 22 October 2024 in Chişinău.
