The far-reaching changes brought about by Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine are increasing the pressure on the EU to take united action: This applies in particular to the restructuring of the European security order. The enlargement of the EU is a geopolitical necessity, which goes hand in hand with the necessary reforms to safeguard the EU's own ability to act. At the same time, it is crucial to ensure the competitiveness of European economies in global competition and to successfully shape the major transformations stemming from the climate crisis and digitalisation. Close cooperation between the partners and founding members of the EU, Germany and Italy, is essential in tackling these common challenges.
As part of this year's final conference of the third "German-Italian Young Leaders' Dialogue - Spinelli Forum", we would like to invite you to discuss Germany and Italy's joint contribution to overcoming these challenges with Dr. Anna Lührmann, Minister of State for Europe and Climate at the Federal Foreign Office, and Maria Tripodi, Under Secretary for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation at the Italian Foreign Ministry. We look forward to your participation.
