Moritz Körner is Secretary General of the FDP North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) and a member of the FDP Executive Committee. Since May 2019 he has been a member of the European Parliament, the FDP’s spokesman on domestic and budgetary policy in the European Parliament, and is part of the Parliament’s delegations for relations with China and with India. Körner was chief negotiator of the Renew Europe Group in the EP for the rule of law mechanism, which ties EU funds to compliance with rule of law standards.

Moritz Körner was the top candidate of the FDP NRW for the 2019 European elections. From 2017 to 2019 he served as a member of NRW's state parliament for the FDP. From 2013 to 2018, Körner was chairman of the local chapter of Young Liberals.

The EU is a legal community and not an ATM that spits out billions in subsidies. Anyone who disregards the values of the EU should not be able to reap its monetary benefits. There cannot be a discount on fundamental values.
