What data of yours do we process? For what purposes?

We process the data that you sent to us in connection with your application in order to check your suitability for the position (or other open positions in our company, if applicable) and to carry out the application process.

On what legal basis does this happen?

The legal basis for the processing of your personal data throughout the application process is primarily § 26 BDSG in the version of May 25, 2018. The data may then be used to make a decision about an employment relationship.

In the case the data is requested for legal prosecution after the application process, data processing can be carried out based on Art. 6 GDPR, especially as to protect legitimate interests in accordance with Art. 6 Paragraph 1 Letter f) GDPR. Our interest then lies in asserting or defending claims.

How long is the data stored?

In the event of rejection, applicants’ data will be deleted after 6 months.

If you have been accepted for a position, the data will be transferred from the applicant data system to our personnel information system.

To whom is the data being transferred?

We use an email software provider for the application process. This service provider may also receive your personal data to allow the maintenance and care of our software systems. We have established an order processing agreement with this provider, which ensures that data processing is carried out in a sensible manner.

Once your application has been received, your applicant data will be viewed by the management assistant or the person responsible for the respective vacancy. During the recruitment process, your data will be forwarded to the human resources department to allow further coordination of the process. In principle, only those people in the company who need it for the proper processing of our application process have access to your data.

Where is the data processed?

The data is processed exclusively in data centers in the Federal Republic of Germany.

Your rights as a “data subject”

You have the right to be informed about the personal data we process about you. If you request information in a non-written manner, we may ask you to identify yourself. You also have the right to correct, delete or restrict the processing of your data, as long as the law entitles you to do so. You have the right to object to processing within the framework of the legal requirements. The same applies to a right to data portability.
