Die Ergebnisse nationaler Wahlen in den Mitgliedstaaten der Europäischen Union sind für die Zukunft der EU relevant. Sie bestimmen über die Machtbalance im Europäischen Rat und im Ministerrat und haben damit indirekt auch Einfluss auf die Entscheidungsfindungsprozesse der EU. Zugleich besitzen nationale Parlamente umfassende Mitwirkungs- und Kontrollrechte und sind in den Fortgang des europäischen Integrationsprozesses eingebunden.
Der EU-Wahlmonitor des IEP begleitet und beleuchtet die innereuropäischen Wahlen mit Factsheets, Hintergrundinformationen, Kurzinterviews und Wahlanalysen. Das IEP möchte damit die transnationale Debatte zu europapolitischen Themen fördern.
