From 11-12 July, and successively on the 13th and 21th, the first three workshops of IEP’s training series on “Strengthening civil society in the fight against corruption in Moldova” were successfully implemented in Chișinău. The first workshop assembled key Moldovan Civil Society Organizations (CSO) and aimed at discussing priorities for the fight against corruption on horizontal and sectoral level. CSO representatives were invited to share their priorities and build a common platform for promoting jointly identified reform measures.
The following two workshops aimed at fostering the exchange on the major corruption related obstacles in the private and in the education sector. Within these sectoral workshops, the opportunity for a dialogue between civil society representatives and representatives of the public administration was provided. This was an important step to overcome the widespread distrust on both sides and raise awareness on the major areas of concern in the respective sector.
The workshops were implemented in co-operation with the Institute for European Policies and Reforms (IPRE) in Chișinău.
The project is financed by the German Federal Foreign Office.
