In their DIIS Policy Brief titled “Rebooting the Franco-German engine: Two post-election scenarios” Fabrizio Tassinari, Senior Researcher at DIIS, and Sebastian Tetzlaff, Research Associate at the IEP, evaluate the Franco-German partnership following the election of Macron as French President. In the two scenarios “Business as Usual” and “The Grand Bargain”, two potential development processes are presented and the challenges which these processes present for Denmark are discussed. The authors see the rebooting of the Franco-German engine as an essential requirement for the revitalization of the EU project.
