Why is disinformation such a widespread phenomenon in the Republic of Moldova? What trends and developments can be identified? What reform measures are needed? The study "Analysis and strategy for increasing resilience to disinformation in the Republic of Moldova" provides answers.
The polarisation of Moldovan society and the non-transparent media landscape are aggravating factors in the fight against disinformation. The widespread distribution of pro-Kremlin news channels contributes to the problem. A strong regulatory framework and an active civil society are needed to address the problem of disinformation.
Experts from various civil society organisations in the Republic of Moldova contributed to the study. Furthermore, German and international experts participated in the analyses and the various measures of the inforMD project.
The project "inforMD - against disinformation in the Republic of Moldova" is a cooperation with the Institute for European Policies and Reforms (IPRE) and the Institute for Strategic Initiatives (IPIS) and is kindly supported by the German Federal Foreign Office.
