About IEP: The Institut für Europäische Politik (IEP) is a non-profit, non-partisan organisation that focuses on European integration. The Berlin-based institute is one of the leading foreign and European policy research organisations in the Federal Republic of Germany. Its staff work nationally and transnationally at the interface between science, politics, administration and political education. Their task is to scientifically analyse topics of European politics and integration in order to then promote the practical application of the research results. The IEP offers a citizen-centred, European and interdisciplinary forum as well as a platform for euro-political debates between experts.
IEP is looking to hire a student assistant starting (the latest) on 01 September 2024 to support the project “InvigoratEU: Invigorating Enlargement and Neighbourhood Policy for a Resilient Europe” with an average working time of 12 hours/week. Remuneration is based on the collective agreement for student employees (TV Stud III). The application deadline is 31 July 2024.
Your tasks:
- Literature research and research assistance on the topics of EU enlargement and neighbourhood policy. In particular, on questions of European resilience, the influence of geopolitical rivals, as well as the potential of connectivity and the protection of critical infrastructure. The geographical scope covers the states of the Western Balkans and the so-called association trio Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia
- Editing of scientific texts within the framework of the project
- Supporting project management, as well as content-related work in the preparation of project materials
- Supporting project communication (writing website texts and social media teasers)
- Supporting the planning and implementation of workshops and events
- General administrative activities
Application requirements:
- Enrolment at a university
- Student of political science or another relevant subject area, ideally in the fourth semester or higher
- Strong interest in questions of enlargement and neighbourhood policy with a view to the Western Balkan states and the so-called Association Trio
- Very good knowledge of European Union policy and European integration research
- Ability to work independently and scientifically
- Team player, organisational skills and reliability
- Very good knowledge of English
