Workshop: Europe’s value

On 16 January 2012, the Federal Foreign Office in cooperation with the IEP hosted a workshop dealing with the topic: “Europe’s Value.“ A number of well-known academics with a professional background in law, economics and politics from the IEP network discussed questions dealing with the value of the European Union from an interdisciplinary perspective. Reason for the workshop was given by the dwindling confidence of the European citizens in Europe. Europe’s value was not only considered from an economic perspective, but equally discussed from a foreign policy view, the space of freedom, security and justice, as well as enlargement policies and the question concerning the costs of a Non-Europe.
