Second Future Workshop as part of the project “Alternative Europe!“

The Institute for European Politics (IEP) and Polis180, together with numerous European research and civil society organ­i­sa­tions, are devel­oping a manifesto of visual­i­sa­tions for Europe, as part of the project “Alter­native Europe!”.

After the first Future Workshop in the European Academy Otzen­hausen (EAO) the program division of European Identity from Polis180 together with IEP and the Berlin State Center for Political Education organised the “Future Lab: feel, discuss, and make Europe” on 12 August.

The Bundestag election is right around the corner. Our opinion concerning Europe is expected to find itself once again in the new government’s program. With this in mind, Polis is devel­oping a manifesto with visions for the future of Europe with numerous European academic research and civil society organ­i­sa­tions as part of the “Alter­native Europe!” project. The manifesto will be brought to the attention of the political parties as of September 2017.

In three stimu­lative speeches experts shared their wisdom as regards the themes of Identity, Publicity and Partic­i­pation with us. Subse­quently we developed our visions and guidance regarding the three themes in inter­active workshops, and then submited these to a reality check, with the help of a design thinking method.

The Future Workshop was part of the project “Alter­native Europe!”, which was initiated by IEP together with the Young European Research Network (JEN) of the European Research Network of Germany (END) and the EAO and will be conducted in cooper­ation with ECSA-Germany (AEI), the Centre Inter­na­tional de Formation Européenne (CIFE), the Young European Feder­alists (JEF), the project “TruLies”, Polis180, the University of Hamburg and the University of Hildesheim.
