The Deutsch-Polnische Wissenschaftsstiftung (DPWS), which funded the research project “Ukrainians in Poland and Germany – Civic and Political Engagement, Expectations, and Courses of Action“, invited the Institut für Europäische Politik (IEP) and the Institute of Public Affairs (ISP) to present the results at its annual conference. The conference took place at the “Europejskie Centrum Solidarności“ (European Solidarity Centre) in Gdansk on 30 June 2016.

Besides two other research projects funded by the DPWS, Dr. Agnieszka Łada of ISP and Julian Plottka of IEP presented the study “#EngagEUkraine“ on the civic engagement of Ukrainians living in Poland and Germany. Following the presentation, members of the DPWS’s board of trustees and interested citizens discussed the results. Especially the general situation of Ukrainians living in Poland and Germany as well as the role of the church and the Ukrainian embassy for the engagement raised their interest. They also asked how the study was perceived in both countries.

Additional information on the project and the study in German and Polish is available on IEP’s project website.
