#MarchForEurope – Pointing out the Way in Berlin and Rome on March 25th, 2017
We warmly invite all to Berlin’s Bebelplatz at 11:45am and Rome’s Piazza della Bocca della Verità at 11:00am on the 25th of March to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Rome Treaties and to demonstrate:
- For a unified, free, open and social Europe!
- For a Europe of human rights, freedom of expression and the press, the rule of law, understanding and solidarity!
- For a Europe of citizens with opportunities for a democratic and participatory role in shaping the future!
- Against the return of nationalism, isolationism and confrontation!
For more than two years a populist, euroskeptical and xenophobic minority has managed to capture a disproportionately large amount of attention within the media while the majority of Pro-Europeans has long remained silent. In the meantime, supporters of the project of European integration have found a loud voice and are making themselves heard with the initiative #PulseofEurope, which currently takes to the streets every Sunday at 2:00pm in 46 German and 12 other European cities.
Emotional enthusiasm for Europe—beyond all necessary academic debates—will come to an initial peak on the 60th anniversary of the signing of the Rome Treaties. On Saturday the #MarchForEurope will take place in Berlin and Rome with the desire to show our colors for Europe. Initiated in Berlin by the Europa-Union Berlin and in Rome by the Union of European Federalists, participants wish to give a clear sign in front of the Brandenburg Gate and the Arch of Constantine that nationalism is a dark and gloomy past and that Europe is our future.

The demonstration in Berlin will begin on March 25th at 11:45am at Bebelplatz and will move from there to the Brandenburg Gate, where the final address will take place at 1:00pm.
