MIDEU’s 2nd Town Hall Debate in Bălţi: “Towards a Civic Identity in Moldova”
On Thursday, September 28, 2017 the second Town Hall Debate within the framework of the MIDEU Project will take place.
This time members of civil society organizations, representatives of national and local authorities, the academia as well as international organizations in Moldova will meet in Bălţi — the second biggest city in Moldova and a multi-ethnic hub of Northern Moldova. The participants will discuss the issue of civic identity in the Republic of Moldova, the challenges and opportunities of developing a multi-layered identity and the role of the European Union in the protection of minority rights.
The MIDEU Project is implemented by the Institut für Europäische Politik (Berlin) in cooperation with the Institute for Strategic Initiatives IPIS (Chişinău) and the Institute for European Policy and Reforms IPRE (Chişinău). It is kindly supported by the German Federal Foreign Office.
